This article is simply aimed at outlining the facts we would need to establish before we commenced a project. Not all these points will be relevant to your project, and we are happy to establish all the necessary information through a site survey.
Cabling
Do you already know which type of cable you are looking for: CAT 5e/6/6e…? Or is it re-termination and testing of existing cabling?
How many points or floor plates you are looking for, and are they single or double points? Don’t forget printers, fax machines and networked photocopiers in calculating points.
Are they all in the same room/area, and do you have plans of the space?
Do you have false floors, or suspended ceilings in the areas you want cabling, or will your installation require dado trunking?
Is the installation to happen over multiple floors, if so do you have risers or ducts between floors for cable access?
Are any of the cable runs outdoors?
